Mikel Arteta has said that centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes missed the pre-season win over AC Milan with a "niggle" he picked up in training. The 27-year-old underwent surgery and missed the final two months of the 2024-25 season with a hamstring injury and for that reason, Arteta does not want to take any risks with the defender.
