Australian media hailed their men’s cricket team for clinching the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after a decade, but were critical of India’s performance in the series.

Australia defeated India by 6 wickets in the India vs Australia 5th Test at Sydney to clinch the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 series by 3-1. On Day 3 of the last BGT 2024-25 Test, India posted the target of 162 runs for Australia in the third innings after being bundled out for 157 runs on a Sydney pitch that had loads of assistance for the seamers.

Prasidh Krishna tried his best but India were asking a lot from themselves defending 162 without Jasprit Bumrah. India added just 16 runs for the last four wickets before Australia cruised home with six wickets in the bag and won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after 10 years.
