Monday, Apple unveiled new features coming to TVOS 26, the next version of its Apple TV operating system. They include the company's sleek new Liquid Glass design, and the ability to use the iPhone as a microphone in Apple Music.
Apple revealed iOS 26 featuring Liquid Glass at WWDC 2025, but the lack of an AI killer feature left analysts questioning its competitive edge.
“Apple’s new glassy UI (user interface) design literally hurts my eyes to look at,” vented a third. “The notifications are a literal eyesore. It’s the definition of form over function. This OS update is going to be the worst thing Apple has done since iOS 7. No joke.”
Apple is reportedly planning a major iPhone redesign for 2027 with an all-glass body and no visible cutouts. To compliment this new design, Apple is likely to introduce a new UI style called Liquid Glass at WWDC 2025.
