College football is on the edge of another realignment as Pac-12 is set to add Texas State, the Sun Belt to add Louisiana Tech.

Texas State has informed the Sun Belt Conference that it expects an offer to join the Pac-12 in the near future, according to ESPN. The timing of a potential deal is important: Texas State's exit fee to join the Pac-12 in 2026 doubles from $5 million to $10 million on July 1.

Texas State began the process of calling a Monday meeting of the university’s Board of Regents to formally accept the Pac-12’s invitation, according to Thamel. Additionally, university officials began to alert its current conference, the Sun Belt, of the Pac-12’s offer and its intention to accept it.
