Netflix's marketing for Happy Gilmore 2 has shown a huge improvement in their strategy for advertising their movies, by treating it like a big summer

Months before the first trailer of the sequel dropped, Happy Gilmore 2's marketing stood on business, having the film's star, Christopher McDonald, appear in character as the cocky golfer Shooter McGavin at the WM Phoenix Open golf tournament.

One of the oldest American golf courses, the Montclair Golf Club in Verona, New Jersey, plays a pivotal role in Happy Gilmore 2’s championship sequences. Going back all the way to 1893, the private club stretches across a 36-hole course and adds some serious professionalism to the film despite its goofy subversion of the game’s rules.

Beginning July 10, fans across the U.S. and Canada can order the “Happy Gilmore Meal” at Subway locations in celebration of "Happy Gilmore 2," which premieres July 25 on Netflix.

Netflix has just released Happy Gilmore 2, but whether it's actually going to be worth watching or not is an open question.

Happy Gilmore 2 will begin streaming on Netflix on Friday, July 25 at 12 a.m. Pacific Time, or 3 a.m. Eastern Time, on the morning of the release date. That means if you’re on the West Coast, you can watch Happy Gilmore 2 as early as midnight on Thursday night.
