Lexus RZ Debuts First F Sport Trim and New Faux-Shifting Feature
Since its debut for the 2023 model year, the RZ has been a rather sleepy EV, but Lexus is apparently keen to change that. The luxury division's European arm has just unveiled an updated RZ, and it brings more power as well as a couple of intriguing new technologies.
2026 Lexus RZ 550e F Sport adds power, simulated gear shifts
At the global reveal, which took place in Brussels, Belgium, Lexus stated that the RZ 550e F Sport packs a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system rated at 402 hp, nearly 100 hp more than the current RZ lineup’ s top output. Lexus said it also fine-tuned the damper and spring settings to accommodate the RZ 550e F Sport’s extra power.

Lexus claims the improvements boost driving range by up to 100 km (62 miles). The RZ 350e is expected to have a WLTP driving range of up to 575 km (357 miles), while the 500e and F Sport trims will get around 500 km (310 miles) and 450 km (280 miles), respectively.
2025 Lexus RZ: More power and a fun-focused manual mode
Both models list the same front and rear motor outputs, but Lexus has clearly dialled the total system power up just a touch on the 550e. Both models use a dual-motor setup for all-wheel drive, but the F Sport badge is your first hint that the 550e is a little more special than its seemingly minor power and acceleration enhancements.

Every RZ now comes with a 77-kwh lithium-ion battery pack instead of the 71.4-kwh pack on the current 2025 Lexus RZ. More cells result in higher output with the revised front motor throughout the lineup, and water cooling for the battery and motor system also enables more sustained performance.
2026 Lexus RZ Gets Yoked Steer-By-Wire And Simulated Gears
Lexus will sell the new RZ in RZ 350e, RZ 500e, and RZ 550e F Sport trims in Europe. It now features simulated gears and synthetic ‘engine’ sounds for added engagement. The brand has yet to announce specifications for the refreshed North American model.
