As Louisiana considers a bill to expand access to ivermectin, oncologists report rising misuse among cancer patients and warn of harmful side effects.

Louisiana joins other Republican-led states such as Idaho, Arkansas and Tennessee in allowing over-the-counter sales of ivermectin. West Virginia and South Carolina are considering similar bills.

Currently four states -- Tennessee, Arkansas, Idaho, and Louisiana -- have passed OTC ivermectin laws.
