Officials in Texas are facing mounting questions about whether they did enough to get people out of harm’s way before a flash flood swept down the Guadalupe River and killed more than 100 people, including at least 27 children and counselors at an all-girls Christian camp.

Texan communities are dealing with the impact of the deadly flash floods along the Guadalupe River, which have killed at least 95 people so far, including 27 (mostly children) from the all-girls Camp Mystic summer camp,

Texas governor Greg Abbott called on state lawmakers to approve funding for new warning systems and emergency communications in flood prone areas when the Legislature meets later this month. Abbott also asked for financial relief for the response and recovery efforts.
