Labor candidate Ali France has won the seat of Dickson in Australia's 2025 federal election, taking it from opposition leader Peter Dutton. Dutton, the head of the Liberal-National coalition, had held the seat for 24 years and is the first federal opposition leader to lose his own seat.

The voters of Dickson made history when they cast their ballots in this year's federal election, causing Peter Dutton to become the first federal opposition leader to lose their seat.His margin had often been tight — and Labor had long held hope of ousting Mr Dutton from the outer metropolitan electorate just north of Brisbane.
