The Red Sox were reportedly looking into Pirates reliever Dennis Santana. That may be on hold after he was caught trying to fight fans during a game Thursday.

Santana, a 29-year-old right-handed pitcher who's in his second season with Pittsburgh, appeared to reach up to swing at a fan while he was in the bullpen. A security guard stood next to Santana as the incident occurred, and he was then separated from the fans and walked away.

Tensions reached a peak midway through the second game of Thursday’s doubleheader between the Pirates and Tigers.
