Offensively, a slow night turned into a wildly exciting third quarter. The Falcons scored 17 points to open the second half but were shut out in the fourth quarter. Undrafted free agent running back Nate Carter rushed for 63 yards on nine carries, including a 43-yard touchdown to get the Falcons back in the game.

The Atlanta Falcons nearly overcame an abysmal first half against the Tennessee Titans, but they still came up short in Friday night's 23-20 preseason loss. Offensively, Atlanta got off to a slow start. After scoring just three points in the first half, the Falcons erupted for a 17-point third quarter to tie the game at 20.

The Tennessee Titans defeated the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2 of preseason action, and tight end Gunnar Helm earned Player of the Game honors.
