Winfrey, a part-time Maui resident, was accused on social media that she wouldn’t open a private road on her property leading to higher ground.

The billionaire was accused by locals of not opening her private road during the tsunami advisory in Maui.

Her spokesperson said the road on Winfrey’s property is owned by Haleakalā Ranch. Winfrey has an easement agreement with the ranch.
