Whatever the preseason expectations were on Paul George in Philadelphia, the in-season results have been clear. Offense is the last aspect of the nine-time All-Star’s game to acclimate to Philly, with the returns from the first 24 games well below George’s outstanding career levels.

Joel Embiid, Paul George, Kyle Lowry, KJ Martin and Jared McCain will be sidelined with various injuries. Martin and McCain’s absences are far from surprising because they’ve been sidelined and weren’t expected to play.

Which then brings up another issue with George: his lack of drives and shot attempts at the rim. Per Cleaning the Glass, George is only taking 16% of his shot attempts at the rim in 2024-25 which is the lowest number of his career. One has to wonder if George is still finding his niche or if the knee is bothering him and limiting him a bit.
