The reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers avoided the dreaded 0-3 series hole on the strength of an overtime goal Friday night to climb back into their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

A back-and-forth contest saw the Panthers take early leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but goals from William Nylander and Max Domi in the second period gave the Leafs their first lead of the night. Anton Lundell tied the game for Florida early in the third period, but Mitch Marner scored the eventual game winner just 17 seconds later.

Brad Marchand scored on a deflected shot at 15:27 of overtime and the Florida Panthers beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-4 on Friday night to cut their deficit in the Eastern Conference semifinal series to 2-1.
