The rainfall was so intense that in one dramatic example, a mudslide caused an entire house to slip down a bank into the Russian River on Tuesday.

This atmospheric river has brought heavy rain, flooding and strong wind gusts to Northern California. Wind gusts of 87 mph were reported north of San Francisco as well.

A house in Forestville, California, slid into the Russian River on February 4, 2025, following days of heavy rain and a mudslide. No one was inside when the home crashed into the river, and footage captured it floating downstream.
