Florida Panthers winger Brad Marchand’s return to the Boston Bruins is back on the table four months after the franchise traded him away. According to reports from TSN’s Darren Dreger and The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun, the Bruins remain interested in re-signing their former captain if he becomes a free agent on July 1.

TSN's Pierre LeBrun reported the Boston Bruins "would certainly be open to bringing him back" and that the Leafs, along with the Bruins, "hope to talk to him" when the free agency window opens on Tuesday. Florida already brought back Conn Smythe winner Sam Bennett. That makes bringing back Marchand the team's top priority.

Barring Marchand opting for comfort over cash and taking a below-market deal, it seems unlikely that the Bruins will reel in their former star.
