In a season that has been anything but positive for the Colorado Rockies, there was at least a glimmer of good news on Monday before starting a three-game series in South Florida against the Miami Marlins.

Ryan Ritter led all minor league players in slugging percentage, extra-base hits and total bases in May, emerging above the rest of his Albuquerque Isotopes teammates.

As a corresponding roster move, the Rockies have selected the contract of infielder Keston Hirua from Triple-A Albuquerque. He will wear no. 7 on his jersey and join the team in New York.
