Dollar Tree, which has priced its products at $1.00 for 35 years, announced Tuesday that it will soon increase its price point to $1.25 nationwide.

Three years ago, Dollar Tree raised the base price of its items to $1.25. The company reported a net loss of more than $1.7 billion in the fiscal quarter ending Feb. 3.

Dollar Tree also announced during a recent quarterly earnings call that it would be closing around 1,000 stores nationwide — mostly Family Dollar stores, from the chain it acquired in 2015.
