The M4 version continues that same trend. It’s fast, efficient, and lightweight—the three hallmark characteristics of the MacBook Air. The fact that it excels at all three is why it’s the most delightful laptop you can buy.

Apple sent me the 15-inch variant of the new MacBook Air in the new "sky blue" color, with an M4 chip, 16GB of memory, and 1TB of storage space. I haven't yet spent enough time with it to tell you whether it's a good purchase, but I can say one thing: The sky blue color will only shine in a certain light.

In Geekbench, which measures overall performance, the MacBook Air M4 hit 3,751 in the single-core test and 14,947 in the multi-core test. That’s 21% faster than the MacBook Air M3. The dual-core result was 23% higher.
