Before then, a lucky lottery ticket holder in Illinois took home a $344 million jackpot on March 25, while another lucky person hit the Mega Millions jackpot on Jan. 17 for $113 million.

There were no tickets sold with all six numbers in Tuesday evening’s drawing of the multi-state Mega Millions lottery, pushing the estimated jackpot for Friday’s drawing to $154 million. There were also no tickets sold with five numbers,

The Mega Millions jackpot was last hit April 18, when an Ohio player won the $112 million grand prize, lottery officials said. To score the jackpot in the Mega Millions, a player must match all five white balls and the gold Mega Ball. The odds of scoring a jackpot prize are 1 in 290,472,336.
