Alex Bregman said his quad strain is similar to the one he suffered in 2021, when he missed over two months of action.

Bregman singled off the left field wall with two down in the fifth inning Friday. As he made the turn at first, he slowed down as the ball was fielded and thrown back into the infield. As Bregman arrived back at first, he immediately signaled to the dugout that he needed to come out of the game.

Bregman roped a single to left field in the fifth inning, rounded first base, then immediately called for the trainer and exited the game with a slight limp. Bregman told reporters on Saturday that he felt worse than expected. He subsequently underwent an MRI before being placed on the shelf.
