A group of irate protesters looked to storm a Brooklyn community late Monday night in response to a viral video showing a violent assault — but were met with heavy resistance by police, leading to several arrests.

The police were investigating the attack in Crown Heights, where hundreds of pro-Israel demonstrators surrounded a woman and hurled slurs at her.

An appearance by Itamar Ben-Gvir set off clashes between pro-Palestinian activists and members of the neighborhood's large Orthodox Jewish community.
