Sabalenka came from a break down in both sets to beat Raducanu 7-6 (6) 6-4 at the All England Club last month, saving a barrage of set points in the opener. So when the Cincinnati draw was made, everyone circled their potential round three rematch - and it delivered.

Sabalenka, who is the defending champion in Cincinnati, got her North American hard-court swing under way on Saturday night with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova.
