The so-called Monsterverse of Godzilla and King Kong is adding a new chapter in Return to Skull Island, a comic book which ties into Netflix's Skull Island: The Animated Series.

The Return to Skull Island comic is set in 1993, concurrent with the events of Skull Island: The Animated Series. This makes the new comic series a prequel to most of the MonsterVerse films.
