WASHINGTON — The deadline to get a REAL ID is fast approaching after years of postponements and delays. Starting May 7, your license or identification card will need to be REAL ID-compliant to fly domestically in the U.S.
REAL ID won't be required for these five states, but travelers will need something else
Additionally, five states issue an Enhanced Driver's License (EDL) and Enhanced ID (EID), which the Department of Homeland Security accepts as REAL ID alternatives.
