A former Sony exec has shared insights into the ongoing strategies for the console maker in porting games over to PC.

Porting to PC is cost-effective for Sony, providing additional income to invest in new titles amid rising game development costs. In the past few years, Sony has been ramping up its PlayStation first-party games production on PC, with some games even releasing simultaneously on PlayStation devices.

"Releasing on PC does many things: it reaches a new audience who do not own consoles--especially in regions where consoles are not as popular," Yoshida said in an interview with Sacred Symbols+ (via Push Square ).
