PPS OKs $750 million 2025 budget that eats into rainy day fund
Dec 18, 2024 · Pittsburgh Public Schools continued to chip away at its shrinking reserve fund with the passage of a $754 million budget Wednesday evening. The PPS board voted 8-1 for the 2025 spending plan that will draw slightly more than $28 million from its reserve fund to bridge a gap between spending and revenues.

Thomas Murt, R-Montgomery, its goal was to allow for less restrictive treatment settings and the chance to intervene sooner “before someone becomes dangerous and tragedy strikes.”
